SUMMARY:

Including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in regular schools is a challenge that requires teachers to engage and know about Specialized Educational Services from the perspective of Inclusive Education. There are cases of children with this disorder who do not communicate orally or the desire to communicate is discrepant in relation to the predisposition to speak, requiring the teacher to use Assistive Technology resources to favor the communication of these children in another way. Thus, this research aims to verify possible challenges perceived by teachers who work in Early Childhood Education in the Municipal Education Network of Esteio/RS, in the implementation of Assistive Technology, category of Alternative and Augmentative Communication, for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder who have difficulties in their oral communication. It also aims to verify whether the Extension Course for teachers who work in the Network of Municipal Schools in the municipality of Esteio/RS, with the realization of: lectures and teacher training in Open and Massive Online Course - MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), with the intention of reaching a greater number of teachers, as well as offering pedagogical workshops to educators who have students with difficulties in their oral communication, which will serve as an aid in training to face these possible challenges. The subjects of the research, then, will be the teachers who work in Early Childhood Education in the Municipal Schools of Esteio/RS. To understand the proposed objectives of this study, the method will be qualitative, the research will be applied, with an exploratory approach of the case study type. The instruments for data collection are a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview, which is carried out after the Extension Course and the pedagogical workshop. The analysis and interpretation of the data will be carried out through the answers of the information collected under investigation of content in which, from this, categories will be formulated that will be discussed with the presentation of the data and with the existing literature.
