SUMMARY:

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are rapidly transforming both personal and professional lives. However, in the educational sphere, although there are changes, they are not yet being fully integrated as mediating tools in classrooms, and their application is not universal. Many English teachinguniversity courses offer few or no subjects that involve ICT in their curriculum. In 2008, to overcome the lack of teachers in Rio Grande do Sul, the Federal Government together with the Rede Gaúcha de Ensino Superior a Distância (REGESD) implemented the Pró-Licenciatura program with six teaching courses carried out in the Open and Distance Education modality (ODL), including English Teaching. The profile of the students was that of active teachers, but who were not trained in the subjects they taught. The curriculum of the English Teaching course presented subjects that involved the use of ICT in English language classes. Thus, interest arose in investigating how teachers who graduated in this course in 2012/2013 and who used ICT in their training are using technologies as mediators for teaching English today. This research consists of a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study that will be based on a case study. Between five and seven subjects will be selected, through a questionnaire, from among the thirty-one teachers who graduated. Afterwards, interviews will be conducted with the selected subjects and the data collected will be analyzed from the perspective of content analysis based on Moraes (1999), Franco (2018) and Bardin (2020). At the end of the work, it is expected to develop a guide with suggestions on how to use technologies in the classroom with indications from the selected teachers.
