RESUMO:

Assistive technology (AT) is one of the essential factors to effectively include students with disabilities in the regular school system. In order for this to happen, education professionals need to know about AT and its application in the educational context, which does not occur in most institutions, as there is a gap in the training of these professionals in the area of AT. Thus, this research proposes to investigate how a MOOC can favor assistive technology training in the educational context, by offering a free, open and certified course by an educational institution. To this end, an applied research was conducted, which involved exploratory and descriptive research, bibliographic survey, with a qualitative and quantitative approach and an inductive method, starting with a systematic review about the use of MOOCs to offer training in AT in the educational context, following by a bibliographical study on the subjects that intertwine in the research - education of people with disabilities, AT and MOOCs. Subsequently, a pilot edition of the MOOC was developed and implemented. The pilot edition is in progress, with the objective of evaluating the course through the perception of the participants and indicators of their participation. At the end of the research, it is intended to launch the final edition of the course within the list of MOOCs from IFRS. The purpose is to propose a way for education professionals to have at their disposal a possibility of training in AT, which meets their learning needs.
