SUMMARY:

This research is linked to the Postgraduate Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT), in the line of research “Educational Practices in Professional and Technological Education (EPT)” and linked to the macroproject “Methodological proposals and teaching resources in formal and non-formal teaching spaces at EPT”. It is expected to understand how IFRS libraries can contribute to the training of their students, from the perspective of integral human formation (FHI); identify the role of libraries in EPT and understand librarians' understanding of EPT concepts. As an educational product, the aim is to present awareness-raising material aimed at librarians, which focuses on EPT and their professional role in this context. The research is characterized as qualitative in terms of its nature and applied in terms of its purpose. As for its objectives, it is characterized as exploratory and descriptive research. The research procedures will be varied, using bibliographical, documentary and field research. IFRS librarians active at the time of the research will be invited to participate. A mixed questionnaire, with open and closed questions, will be applied via Google Documents. As a theoretical basis, the research presents a general overview of the history of EPT in Brazil; reflections on FHI, based on the concepts of Marise Ramos, Maria Ciavatta and Dermeval Saviani; in addition to the recent history of the Federal Network for Professional, Scientific and Technological Education (RFEPCT).
