SUMMARY:

This master's degree research project aims to analyze the incorporation of the concept of neurodiversity into public policies for school inclusion in Brazilian Basic Education and its contributions to equitable pedagogical practices. The justification is based on the need to overcome deficit-based and medicalizing models, investigating how educational legislation dialogues with contemporary neuroscience conceptions of neurological variability. The adopted methodology is qualitative, combining bibliographical research and documentary analysis of legal frameworks such as the National Policy on Special Education from an Inclusive Education Perspective (2008), the Brazilian Inclusion Law (2015), and the new National Policy on Inclusive Special Education (2025). The theoretical foundation addresses neurodiversity as a social movement and educational paradigm, the processes of neuroplasticity, and the interfaces between neuroscience and education. As an educational product, the research proposes an e-book entitled "Neurodiversity Glossary," a formative guide for school teams articulating scientific evidence and inclusive practices.
