SUMMARY:

The technical, cognitive, social and emotional skills necessary for learning in the 21st
century were highlighted with the Coronavirus pandemic established in 2020, which
made teachers identify the inclusion of these experiences in pedagogical proposals
as a primordial aspect. In this attempt, teachers, parents and students were
challenged to continue their teaching and learning processes using digital resources.
Thus, it is important to develop the knowledge to accompany such evolution during
the first stage of Basic Education - Early Childhood Education. In view of this,
Computational Thinking can help in the systematization of pedagogical actions
through the development of skills such as: "Understanding, systematizing,
representing, analyzing and solving problems [...]". planning of activities based on the
four pillars of Computational Thinking: abstraction, decomposition, algorithms and
pattern recognition.Using the epistemological-methodological approach of Design
Science Research (DSR) this investigation aims to contribute to basic education
through the creation of pedagogical artifacts , namely: a Didactic Sequences-SD
based on the pillars of Computational Thinking for early childhood education classes,
which will be applied in three classes of Preschool II, which will be carried out in one
class at a time and after each intervention the SD will be analyzed and refined. From
this Empirical Cycle, carried out with the SD, it is intended to build enough
knowledge, in order to elaborate methodological guidelines that can guide teachers
in the process of creating Didactic Sequences appropriate to the specificities of their
context. The focus of this methodological proposal is to help the teacher's planning,
working in Early Childhood Education, to use the pillars of Computational Thinking in
an intentional and interdisciplinary way (between the fields of experience of the
National Common Curricular Base). This product will be applied in a municipal school
in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre-RS. The expected results for the research
include obtaining enough data to validate the product of this dissertation, and
consequently, to develop methodological guidelines that can serve, not only as a path
to be followed, but also help teachers to plan their classes with the support of the
Computational Thinking with other groups of students.
