SUMMARY:

Geographical Indications are strategic instruments for territorial enhancement that, by recognizing the uniqueness of products and services, strengthen cultural identity and promote regional differentiation. This recognition contributes to economic development by adding value, generating income and employment, stimulating tourism, and integrating local productive, cultural, and economic dimensions. In Brazil, the advancement of the strategy for enhancing the value of products and services is evident in the increased number of registrations granted by the National Institute of Industrial Property. In this sense, the articulation between Geographical Indications, as instruments of Intellectual Property, and Tourist Routes, understood as tourism products, constitutes the object of analysis in this study, as an arrangement capable of influencing tourists' perceptions of value. The study aims to identify factors influencing tourists' perceptions of value along tourist routes with geographical indications. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, to broaden understanding of the results. This study develops the adaptation of data collection instruments and the creation of persona profiles with identified attributes, constituting the means by which the results are obtained. In this study, perceived value is an evaluation resulting from the relationship between benefits and sacrifices associated with the lived experience, expressed as the maximization of perceived benefits relative to the minimization of sacrifices. It thus focuses on the value for the tourist, considering the factors that influence perceptions of value, using the Jardins da Lavanda tourist route in Morro Reuter/RS as an empirical case for analyzing and interpreting the results. The research structure centers on identifying gaps in the literature regarding the lack of specific methods to evaluate tourists' perceptions of value along tourist routes with Geographical Indications or potential Geographical Indications. It proposes a model that can support strategic decisions for territorial valorization. As a result, it is estimated that the project will generate subsidies to foster the development of public policies, improve tourism products, and strengthen the destination's image, contributing to the sustainable growth of tourism in the region. Final deliverables include a scientific article, a technical report, and management support tools, aligned with the guidelines of the ProfNIT Graduate Program and the demands for innovation in intellectual property and territorial development.
